In fact, according to a 2017 survey conducted by IDC, data professionals spend 80% of their time searching for and preparing data compared to 20% of their time performing analytics.
IBM hopes to make this easier by partnering with Trifacta.
Working together, the companies have created InfoSphere Advanced Data Preparation, a data protection platform that can be used to prepare large amounts of data.
"The solution allows diverse forms of data stored in multiple databases to be quickly identified, and swiftly and easily extracted and processed, without the need for high-level specialist skills," according to IBM.
“This collaboration will empower organizations to accelerate data preparation for self-service analytics in a governed and centrally managed environment,” Trifacta Chief Executive Officer, Adam Wilson, told SiliconAngle.
