RPA business Blue Prism buys Thoughtonomy

The deal will allow Blue Prism’s connected RPA platform to be distributed and supported as a turnkey software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) firm Blue Prism has acquired Thoughtonomy in a deal valued at around £80mn.

The deal will allow Blue Prism’s connected RPA platform to be distributed and supported as a turnkey software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering.

Blue Prism says the deal will allow customers to accelerate automation projects more easily, without needing to set up the right infrastructure to support the programme.

Over the past three years, Thoughtonomy has delivered year-on-year growth of over more than 250%. It was also ranked 11th in the Deloitte 2018 UK Technology Fast 50.

Thoughtonomy will also bring new clients to Blue Prism, boosting its presence in some verticals e.g. healthcare."
