Texas-based travel technology firm Sabre Corporation has committed to accelerate its adoption of new technologies having signed a new long-term cloud partnership with Microsoft Azure.
The new agreement will see Sabre migrating its commercial applications to Microsoft Azure in order to leverage the company’s cloud development expertise and services.
In turn, this will allow Sabre to more readily implement new AI and data analytics capabilities across its own operations, allowing the firm to better serve its hotel, agency and airline customers.
“The cloud presents an opportunity to rapidly innovate, create and deliver new business value for Sabre and our customers,” said Joe DiFonzo, Sabre CIO.
“Microsoft is more than a technology provider for us. Their team will be a key asset in our transformation, through proven leadership in the cloud space along with industry expertise and best practice methodology to help us realize our vision.”
The latest agreement is an expansion of the companies’ existing partnership, having together launched of an AI powered chatbot “Ella”. The virtual assistant looks to explore how AI can aid travel agencies, better serving travelers by fulfilling common requests using smart technology.
