Tencent just acquired Swedish game developer Sharkmob

Sharkmob was founded two years ago in Malmö, Sweden, by a group of industry veterans from Ubisoft and IO Interactive.

Chinese tech giant Tencent has just acquired Swedish game developer Sharkmob for an undisclosed sum.

Sharkmob was founded two years ago in Malmö, Sweden, by a group of industry veterans from Ubisoft and IO Interactive.

“Sharkmob’s creative and passionate team has a proven track record of developing triple-A titles which involves open world setting and various gameplays" said Steven Ma, Senior Vice President of Tencent.

"We look forward to more exciting innovation for game-lovers by combining Sharkmob’s development capabilities with Tencent’s technologies and expertise."

Sharkmov is currently working an unannounced game as well as several new projects with Tencent.
