UK mobile provider EE to allow customers free 4G roaming in 52 countries

EE customers will be able to use their phones for free in a multitude of destinations across the world

UK mobile provider EE has announced new price plans which will allow its customers to use 4G networks in 52 countries around the world at no extra cost.

The company claims that its ‘4GEE Max’ plans will also boast the largest prevalence of 4G locations and the best speeds, both in the UK and abroad, thanks to EE’s 125 partner networks.

Users will be able to take advantage of the free roaming across Europe, as well as in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

So whether individuals want to film the Eiffel Tower lighting up at night, or the sun setting over the Golden Gate Bridge, EE are adamant that their customers will now be able to do so with minimal fuss.

EE CEO Marc Allera is excited about what the new price plans will offer. He said: “Our customers want to be able to stay connected whether they’re travelling around the UK or abroad.

“We go further to provide our customers with 4G in more places across the UK than any other operator, and we’re offering inclusive roaming in more destinations as well – so our customers can stay in touch whether they’re lying on a beach in the Mediterranean, checking out the latest restaurants in New York, or hiking in New Zealand.”

The provider says that the 52 destinations available across the price plan account for 80% of all of their customers’ trips abroad.

EE’s new plan is the latest move in the UK mobile roaming price market after Vodafone recently adjusted its own roaming policy, permitting Pay Monthly users to use UK allowances in 40 countries without any charge.

The new '4GEE Max’ price plan becomes available as of 10 May.
